The OT Hike and Float Challenge is not just a great time, it\u2019s our largest fundraiser.\u00a0 Now in its fifth year, the event has generated $90,000 to help maintain Missouri\u2019s longest trail.\u00a0 This year we\u2019ve shortened the hike and added a float leg to the event.<\/p>\n

What is it?\u00a0<\/strong>The Hike and Float Challenge is a fundraiser AND a hike-and-float adventure. Each registered hiker commits to raising $1,250 for the Ozark Trail Association and participates in the Current River Challenge, an 8-mile hike from Round Spring Campground through Echo Bluff State Park to Current River State Park, and return to Round Spring via a Current River float.<\/p>\n

What if I don\u2019t like to float, or I can\u2019t hike 8 miles?\u00a0<\/strong>Don\u2019t worry! You can still raise funds for the OTA and be a \u201cvirtual\u201d hiker\/floater. What a great way to support the organization!<\/p>\n

What if I don\u2019t reach my fundraising goal?\u00a0<\/strong>Don\u2019t worry! It\u2019s easier than you think! There are plenty of current and past participants that are willing to share their techniques and success stories. It is a fundraiser, so we need you to make a good-faith effort. You can start by reaching out to family and friends and sponsors are the simplest and quickest way to achieve success!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s in it for me?<\/strong> The best part of this fundraiser is the camaraderie of the group dedicated to supporting the OT and the OTA!\u00a0 You\u2019ll be treated to a festive weekend with free camping, free food, fellowship, campfire, music and all sorts of OTA\/HIke and Float Challenge swag.<\/p>\n

Where is the event?\u00a0<\/strong>The hike portion is scheduled leave Round Spring Campground near Eminence, MO 8AM Saturday, September 11, 2021.\u00a0 Camping will be available to participants Friday night, September 10 through Sunday morning, September 12.<\/p>\n
