DESCRIPTION:We’re heading to Hwy 21 trail head and heading up the OT towards Taum Sauk Mountain doing some tread restoration and maintenance. This section of trail is in need of tread restoration so we’ll be working on that along with other maintenance issues. \nWhere: We will meet at 8:30 am at Hwy 21 trail head (Claybough) west of Ironton\, MO. DESCRIPTION:Sharing about the OTA with Missouri legislators… \nPurposes: \n\nTo raise awareness of the Ozark Trail in the Missouri General Assembly\nTo help OTA members build positive relationships with legislators\nTo develop support for the OT among legislators\n\nA brief training will be provided in the morning at the Capitol. The Lobby Day will entail Ozark Trail Association members traveling to Jefferson City and meeting in small groups with members of the Missouri House and Senate who represent districts that the OT runs through (or is planned to run through). Legislator responses will be shared with the Communications Committee so appropriate follow-up can be made. \nParticipants will meet in the first floor of the Capitol Rotunda at 9:30 am on Wednesday\, January 29\, 2020.
